Kickstart. Again.

First thing's first. If you read my previous post, you probably noticed the theme of it was mostly regret about my poor habits on vacation. Well. I have something very exciting to say. I somehow did not gain a SINGLE POUND while on vacation. Yes, it would have been better if I were losing weight while on vacation, but I would never expect that to happen.

Now. My plan for kickstarting my workout/eating well lifestyle again today is as follows:

When I woke up, I had COFFEE (as usual) and half of a banana. A little pre-workout metabolism booster.

After the long and painful workout, shower. Then I toasted some Van's organic waffles. Here's what I love about Van's waffles. Their ingredients are printed in huge, legible font on the back because they're "proud of their ingredients" and they look like this:
Do you see the edges on those things?! It looks like they came out of a real waffle iron. Probably because they did.

For lunch, I'm going to have a salad. If you want to know the details, I'll be using romaine lettuce, tomatoes from our garden, banana peppers from our garden, some fresh mozzarella cheese, some fresh basil from my herb garden, and onions. Then I'll probably throw some balsamic vinegar and olive oil on top. So much flavor and so few calories.

When Dan gets home from a long day of climbing wind turbines, we're going for a bicycle ride because the weather is perfect for it. It'll get him out of his post-work funk that he'll more than likely be in since this is his first day back from vacation and it'll give me my second wind.

Then, for dinner, I'm making eggplant parmesan (yup. Eggplant from our garden!) with this recipe. The only difference is that I'll be using fresh basil and I make my own marinara sauce. It's easy and it's VERY low in calories... I got it from Rocco DiSpirito's book, Now Eat This and I highly recommend buying it. Mine is used all the time.

Also: I will drink at least 90 ounces of water, I will snack on things like almonds and graham crackers, and I will go to bed early with no alcohol in my system.

It's always so hard to get back into doing the right thing after doing the wrong things for any period of time. I have found that it's been much easier this time around though. Again, like I've said so many times before, if you make it your lifestyle instead of just a temporary goal, it WILL BE EASIER. When it comes to winning the war over your willpower, you're really the only one fighting so it should be a simple battle.

Have a lovely Monday!
